Panel discussion to mark broadcasting day

           All India Radio( AIR), Bangalore in association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is set to celebrate Public Service Broadcasting Day on November 12, 2013.

          To mark the occasion a panel discussion on the topic 'The role of All India Radio in preserving music: Past, Present and Future' will be held before an invited audience followed by 'Saatatya'- a jugalbandi vocal concert featuring three generations of musicians sharing a common dais.


          The discussion will be chaired and moderated by N S Krishnamurthy, retired Station Director, All India Radio. Noted vocalist, musicologist Dr T S Satyavathy, noted flautistMysore A Chandankumar, sound archivist and culture patron Dr R V Raghavendra will be the panelists.

         Saatatya - the jugalbandi concert features young and upcoming vocalists Vinay Sharva(Karnatic Vocal) and Kaushik Aithal (Hindustani Vocal). They will be accompanied by Vittal Rangan (Karnatic Violin), C N Chandrashekar (Hindustani violin), Vid A V Anand(Mridanga), Pt Ravindra Yavagal (Tabla) and A D Sunad (Khanjira).

      The programme will be held at Khincha Auditorium, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road, Bangalore on 12th November 2013 from 5 PM onwards. Entry is free.
