Following
their tradition, All India Radio (AIR) is organising a week-long audio
drama fest, ‘Akhilakerala Radio Natakolsavam’, from September 8 to 14.
The plays, which will go on air in various Akashavani stations across the
state at 9.30 pm, as per AIR are replicas of human minds and their various
emotions. The one-hour-long plays will have a repeat telecast the very
next day at 11.00 am.
Directed by Beban Kaimaparamban and written by the well-known short story
writer, K K Sudhakaran, Kinavil Kandathu will be the curtain raiser in
Thiruvananthapuram station on September 8.
Veena, a sensitive and lovable girl, who considers her relationships most
valuable, falls in love with Hemanth and what transpires there after is
the story of this heartwarming play. Cine actor Remya Nambeesan renders
voice for Veena’s character, while the known dubbing artists like
Anandavalli and Shobi Thilakan are also part of the project.
Vithakkunnavante Upama to be broadcasted in Kannur station on September 9
is written and directed by K V Sarathchandran. Based on a parable of a
farmer and his seeds from the bible, this one-act-play’s audio is given by
cine-actor Siddique.
Ooma parayunnathu, a heart wrenching story of a hearing and speaking
impaired Kunjamma and her struggles, is being aired on September 10 in the
Kozhikode station. Penned by Pradeepkumar Kavunthara and directed by C
Krishnakumar, Ooma Parayunnathu will be different experience for the
audience. Rajagopalan Karappatta, T P Rajagopalan Kaavil, Gangadharan
Aayadathil, Murali Nambiar, Vineeth Thikkodi, Balan Kaavil, Elsy Mathew, T
Soujath, Ajitha Nambiar and P M Deepa Kottoor render voice to the play.
Written and directed by G Hiran, Mahakavi Moyinkutty Vaidyar is a play
adaptation of Badarul Muneer Husnul Jamal, a literary work by Moyinkutty
Vaidyar. The play to be broadcasted in Mancheri station on September 11,
has Abdulla Nenmanda, Ravi K Manoranjan, Hassan Paingottur, Pradeep
Kurikkathur and many others giving voice to it.
Thrissur station will be airing Hamsageetham, a play directed by T T
Prabhakaran and Uma Balan. A sneak peek into the life of Alexander Pushkin
is what Hamsageetham achieves in one hour.
Featuring cine and drama legends like KPSC Lalitha and Kalasala Babu,
Jeevithathinte koythupadangal, a play based on the life of Tarashankar
Bandopadhyay, will be broadcasted on September 13 in Kochi station.
Thakkol, a play based on the contemporary lifestyle, directed by Biju
Mathew will be aired in Ananthapuri FM on September 14.
