Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting Mr. C.M. Jatua informed about the financial performances of public broadcasters Doordarshan and All Indian Radio.

         Doordarshan has posted net earned revenue for the first quarter of current fiscal as Rs. 1.43 billion. The same figure for All India Radio stands at Rs.447.83 million. The minister said, "Doordarshan had posted revenue of Rs 10 billion while AIR's income stood at Rs 2.49 billion for the fiscal ended March 2010 which included Rs 385.9 million which was not commercial revenue."

              Along with this information, Jatua gave details about the pending amount of Prasar Bharti on different agencies and bodies among which DAVP (Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity) is the most prominent one. DAVP owes Rs.66.71 million to DD. Also, a total of Rs.997.37 mn is pending on defaulting agencies to DD.
