If you are a music aficionado who loves to listen to old melodies on your radio, be prepared to be entertained online too. The Allahabad wing of All India Radio is launching its website on September 12. This would enable users to scan the website to obtain downloads of programmes which until now were only available in the archives section of AIR, Allahabad.

     Sharing the details with TOI, director, AIR, Allahabad, Prem Prakash Shukla said, ''One can listen to everything, right from a song to a radio talk, while scanning the website which would cater to the needs of radio lovers from diverse age groups.''

      There are several programmes which were in-house productions of AIR, Allahabad. These could never be broadcasted in other regional stations in the absence of facilities related to physical interchanging of programmes. However, once the website is launched, it would allow other regional centres also to broadcast Allahabad programmes, Shukla said.
