PATNA:Doordarshan will launch 'India innovates' programme based on creative activities having far reaching effect on public importance from January 26 next year.Director General Doordarshan Tripurari Sharan told mediapersons here that India innovates programme would be launched from January 26 which would cover creative activities having far reaching effect on public importance.

The experiments in any field carried out even in remote area would be incorporated in the programmes beging launched by Doordarshan, he said, adding that it would help the people to go for creating something new which would be of public importance and utility, he added.

Mr Sharan said digitalisation work of the doordarshan would be completed by the year 2014.

Once digitalisation was completed, it would help in tracking cable operators who did not air Doordarshan programmes on their network despite clearcut guidelines in this connection, he said, adding that cable operators had the complusion to carry the programmes of doordarshan without any interruption.

The Director General said Doordarshan had largest viewers coverage in the country and it would promote culture and traditions of different regions.

In Bihar, Bhojpuri and Maithili would also be on agenda of doordarshan in such programmes aimed at promoting culture of various regions across the country.
