DD Podhigai‘s BSNL Sports Quiz entered  Limca Book of National Records for the longest running Weekly Quiz show on Television in India.

The  Quiz programme exclusively for sports was started on Doordarshan Podhigai Satellite Channel in the year 2002 during the month of June to coincide with the 2002 World Cup Football Tournament. This Programme is researched, devised and conducted by Dr. Sumanth C Raman, a renowned TV show anchor in Podhigai Doordarshan and has won mass appeal across the entire nation. This Sports Quiz programme in its early years was supported and nurtured by a number of sponsors such as Indian Oil Corporation (T-Shirts), Cholamandalam (Travel Bags & Caps), Cricinfo. (1983 World Cup Cricket CDs), Higginbothams, (Malayala Manorama Year books), Mr.Strong (T-Shirts) and The Pavilion (Bull Exerciser–Mega prize).

            BSNL TAMILNADU TELECOM CIRCLE adopted this Sports Quiz programme in 2003 and apart from its continued sponsorship with branding. BSNL Tamilnadu Telecom Circle also provides approximately 35 ITC Cards to the Prize Winners of the Sports Quiz programme every week. The Programme is telecast LIVE on Doordarshan Podhigai from Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai every Saturday night between 2210 hrs and 2300 hrs.

            BSNL Sports Quiz Programme reaches viewers in 83 countries.
